Hi Sweet Songbirds,
After careful reflection and consideration, we've decided to skip Singing in Love this year. We know many of you have been waiting to hear — and we wanted to share this with you directly, along with the heart behind it.
We know this may come as sad news to some of you. It was a genuinely difficult decision for us to make, because we love this gathering, and we love singing with you.
We honor this container so deeply — the depth we go to together, the emotional release, the tender moments, the breakthroughs and insights. Because we hold that so dearly, we also know how important it is to hold it well, and this year we couldn't do that the way it deserves.
Our team needs rest and restructuring. Much of our team has been navigating burnout, busy schedules, and health challenges. Our focus this year needs to be on restructuring and building stronger systems of support — for the organizers and for the gathering itself — so it can keep holding the vision as Singing in Love grows in depth. Also, our main chef has moved on to new things, and finding the right new chef (or chefs) is something we didn't want to rush.
On top of that, there were lots of community events happening close together this year. We didn't want to add to anyone's financial burden by asking people to choose, and it also made it much harder to promote the retreat and sell tickets. That's part of why we're considering a different date next year.
Even so, we're genuinely excited for the ways we're dreaming up to make next year's retreat even more deeply held. And we are planning to create more regular singing events going forward — stay tuned for more info.
In place of Singing in Love this year, September 5–7 will bring a gathering hosted by Stonehedge Gardens & Holistic Learning Center — the land we've held our gathering on — together with Jules in Space, in preparation for the Harmonic Earth Festival. It's a chance for the community to come together, connect, sing, share food, and give back to the land. It's free / work-trade, and RSVP is required. We invite you to look it up if it calls to you.
We look forward to seeing how all of this unfolds, and to sharing that unfolding with you. We hope to sing with you again soon.
With love and songs in our heart,
The Singing in Love Team
